Soft Skills Mastery Class

Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS), a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing and developing talent from local communities, offers a free online Soft Skills Mastery Class to help participants build essential workplace skills.

Drawing from 20 years of research-based workforce development experience, this interactive class strengthens self-esteem and confidence, lifelong learning and metacognition, personal and professional core values, and business culture literacy—key components of workplace success.

Northeastern University Center for Technology Management and Digital Leadership has partnered with WOS to issue a certificate of participation upon completion of the Soft Skills Mastery Class.

Designed for highly motivated early-career professionals, this 12-hour class spans four consecutive days, with two hours of live interactive training and one hour of individual learning each day. Participants will gain actionable knowledge to support their personal and professional growth, learning how to apply their experiences to workplace success.

Our class objectives will help participants:

  • Identify core personal and professional values
  • Gain a self-awareness of strengths and learn how to address weaknesses
  • Bolster self-esteem and self-acceptance
  • Establish and nurture wellness and a healthy living lifestyle
  • Identify and utilize learning styles and study strategies to support lifelong learning and adaptation
  • Create development plans to achieve personal, academic, and professional goals using various approaches
  • Recognize and understand emotional intelligence and its impact in the workplace
  • Further develop interpersonal skills and identify transferable skills

Educational Services Coordinator

Amy Dolph

Amy Dolph, Educational Services Coordinator, joined the WOS team in January 2022, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the non-profit sector. With a strong background in both administrative roles and direct service, she is dedicated to enhancing educational services and supporting the organization’s mission.

Senior Director of Educational Services

Jessica Miller

Jessica Miller joined the WOS family in 2010. She directs all educational services and academic operations including curriculum development, relationships with universities, colleges, and other academic institutions, and new program implementations. Jessica led and continues to oversee the adoption of Canvas as the WOS Learning Management System including moving all academic content and courses to Canvas which has been instrumental in providing continuity during the shift to remote training. She spearheads the various live, online training offerings including the Soft Skills Mastery Class and the Professional Development training. Previously, Jessica was responsible for managing all aspects of the WOS program in northeast Ohio from implementation to completion.

Jessica was named among the Top 50 Women Leaders for Ohio for 3 consecutive years (2024, 2023, 2022).  She holds an M.A. in Anthropology and Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College and a B.S. in Integrated Mathematics Education from Kent State University.

Educational Services Coordinator

Jessie Rivera

Jessie Rivera joined the WOS team in August 2021, bringing over a decade of experience in nonprofit administration and direct service. As Educational Services Coordinator, she supports the development and implementation of educational programs, ensuring participants receive high-quality training and skill-building opportunities. She also contributes to instructional design, content creation, and curriculum development to enhance learning experiences. Jessie plays a key role in coordinating professional development initiatives, facilitating training sessions, and managing logistics for live and virtual learning experiences.

Prior to WOS, Jessie held leadership roles in property management and nonprofit sectors, focusing on operational efficiency, team development, and community engagement. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management from Goodwin University in Connecticut.
