FAQ
How do I know if I qualify for WOS?
We have a very short but specific list of requirements for the program. Overall, we are looking for high school seniors and graduates (high school diploma or equivalent) who are highly motivated, eager to learn, and intensely dedicated. Current high school students can apply, but they will not be considered until they are within a few months of graduation.
Where do I get an application?
Students can apply online, but students interested in the high school program can also pick up an application at our Open House events. Information about Open House events will be circulated to guidance counselors and principals, and will be posted to our Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages.
When does the program begin?
There is no set start date for our programs. When we get new clients, we assess their staffing needs and recruit students accordingly. We always post information about upcoming programs at least a month before the start date on our website and on our Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. There are no contracts or agreements. We hold up our end of the bargain – to train and help students begin a career within a corporation. All we ask is that students show up on time, submit their homework by the assigned deadlines, and dedicate their energy to learning these new skills.
How does the admissions process work?
Once a student submits an application, the Workforce Opportunity Services team will evaluate the application and decide whether or not to invite the student to a pre-certification session, which typically takes place one night a week over a six-week period. Attendance is mandatory for these sessions. Performance in the pre-certification will determine acceptance into the program.
How big are the classes?
Class size depends on the client’s needs. Cohorts have ranged from 10 to 30 students who typically remain together throughout the entire duration of the program.
When will I be notified if I'm accepted?
Upon completion of the pre-certification period, successful candidates will be notified by a member of the Workforce Opportunity Services team in about one week.
Can I re-apply if I don't get accepted?
Yes. We encourage students to re-apply to the program if they are not accepted the first time.
