Eaton Corporation Welcomes WOS Consultants

Consultants from WOS began working at Eaton Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio in late June, marking another major milestone in the nonprofit organization’s expansion into Ohio.
On Thursday, June 24th, the five Ohio WOS consultants took part in orientation at Eaton. Denise Vinton, IT Manager for IT Early Talent Programs at Eaton, organized the orientation, which included a tour of the corporate headquarters.  The WOS program managers, Mandy Schmidt and Jessica Miller, conducted an overview of the WOS program to the Eaton managers.
The consultants began working the following week. Two of the consultants will be provided IT site infrastructure support to Eaton’s world headquarters. Two other consultants will focus on IT support for Eaton’s data centers. And the fifth consultant will provide IT support for websites and applications on the Eaton intranet.
The partnership between Eaton and WOS kicked off in October 2010, with the five consultants-in-training beginning a certificate program run in partnership with the University of Akron. The consultants will continue with the academic program through January 2012, at which time they will transition into full-time consulting work.
The WOS family is very excited about their progress and extends its thanks to Bill Blausey, Eaton’s CIO, Denise Vinton, the company’s Manager for IT Early Talent Programs, and all the managers who helped make the partnership a success.
