Tavon Pettway

WOS Alumni

Tavon Pettway joined WOS in July 2010 and earned his certificate from the Rutgers-Newark SOAR Veterans program in June 2011. In June 2012, Tavon was hired by Prudential as a systems analysis and development associate. He graduated from Bunnell (N.J.) High School and currently attends Housatonic College in Bridgeport, CT, where he is pursuing a degree in business technology. Tavon served in the United States Air Force for five years as a Corporal. He was part of the Operation Iraqi Freedom from July 2004 to July 2005 serving as the Civil Affairs OIC driver. He was also a Shift Leader for food operations in Mahmudiyah and Lutifiyah in Iraq from August 2006 to November 2007. Tavon was also part of the Fort Drum Culinary Arts Team in 2004. In his spare time, Tavon enjoys participating in outdoor sports, cooking, and spending time with his daughter.
