Garnett Miller was born in Crewlany, Jamaica. He served as a Fire Support Specialist in the Army National Guard from 1998 to 2001. He attended Monroe College and received an associate’s degree. He also joined the Army again to answer his nation’s call from 2002 to 2005. During that time he deployed to Korea and Iraq as a Motor Transport Operator. He is now serving in the Army National Guard as a fire support specialist. Garnett earned his certificate from the Rutgers SOAR program in June 2011 and was hired by Prudential in July 2012 after consulting the company's IT organization. His future plans are to receive a master’s degree in occupational therapy and an advanced degree in information technology. He enjoys fishing, auto racing and traveling with his child and wife.
